Probe launched after plane veers off runway at Glasgow Airport

An investigation is underway after a plane veered off the runway at Glasgow Airport.

The incident, involving a Loganair plane from Barra, happened yesterday afternoon around 12.30pm.

There were no passengers on board the plane at the time and the flight crew were able to exit the plane safely.

No damage occurred to the aircraft during the incident, which, per protocol, saw an aircraft ground incident declared at the airport and the emergency services scrambled into action.

A spokesperson for Loganair said: “A Twin Otter aircraft returning from Barra left the runway on Sunday at Glasgow Airport and veered on to the grass verge.

“An aircraft ground incident was declared and our emergency services were in attendance. There were no passengers on board the aircraft and the flight crew exited safely.
