Investigation underway after man is seriously injured in Leeds stabbing

A man suffered serious injuries following a stabbing in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police say officers were called to St James's University Hospital at around 5.20am on May 2, following "reports of a man having been stabbed".

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, officers found a man who had suffered serious injuries following a stabbing in Harehills.

A police spokesman said: "Enquiries into the incident – which is believed to have happened in the vicinity of Harehills Lane during the early hours of this morning – are ongoing.

"As a result of the incident the male suffered serious but not life threatening injuries.

"Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 311 of today."

No arrests have been made yet, but officers have cordoned off an area of Harehills Lane while the investigation continues.
