An investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found at a Sunderland house.
The body of a 45-year-old man was discovered in a property on Lumley Street, Millfield on Friday.
Police were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is now being treated as "unexplained".
Emergency services have been seen entering the property over the weekend as the investigation into his death continues.
But officers have said the death is an "isolated incident" and there's no threat to the wider community.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “At about 5.10pm on Friday police received a report of a body of a man inside an address on Lumley Street in Sunderland.
“Emergency services attended and upon their arrival a 45-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“Enquiries into the circumstances around the death are ongoing and it is currently being treated as unexplained."
“Police have been in the area over the course of the weekend but this is an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community.”
