Victorian students will be offered special consideration after two errors were picked up in a Year 12 exam.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority has launched an investigation after typographical errors appeared in Monday's second general maths exam.
One error was picked up after printing, with students instructed to amend the paper.
But the second in a matrix-related question was not spotted until after the exam.
Further investigations will be made into how the error occurred.
The Department of Education says no student's score will be unfairly impacted because of the mistake.
"We unreservedly apologise," Education Minister Ben Carroll told reporters at state parliament.
"To have this on top of what is already a stressful time for those students and their families is unacceptable."
