Police probe launched into murder-suicide of father and son in Bishopbriggs

Police are appealing for witnesses as part of a murder investigation into the deaths of a teenage boy and his father in a Bishopbriggs house.

Antoni (16) and Seweryn (40) Thomas, believed to be father and son, were found in a house on Grainger Road at around 4.10pm on Wednesday (December 23).

It's believed that gifted Tony Thomas, 16, was killed by his father Seweryn, 40, who then took his own life.

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue their investigation into the incident.

Detective Inspector Stevie Watson, of Kirkintilloch CID, said: "Our thoughts are with Antoni and Seweryn's family at this very difficult time and we are providing them support.

"The incident is being treated as murder and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"These enquiries are still at an early stage, however, we would like to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Grainger Road around 4pm on Wednesday, 23 December, and anyone who might have any information that could assist with our enquiries. Please contact police via 101 quoting incident number 2311 of 23 December, 2020."
