Current Covid regulations in Wales mean that outdoor gatherings of more than 50 people are banned and hospitality venues are limited to the rule of six and have to ensure that a distance of 2m is maintained between groups of up to six people. Managed table service must also be in place indoors and outdoors with customers asked to remain seated.

The video clips circulating online appear to show large crowds in an outdoor area at the venue. A spokesman for Eden said the video "took place at 12 when the owner wished everyone Happy New Year on the mic and for that brief moment people got up".
They added: "The police had visited the premises inside and outside during the evening at found no issues at the time of the visit."
South Wales Police was also made aware of the footage after the event but said any retrospective action – if deemed necessary – would be taken by the local authority.
