Investigation launched into torched vans at Lanarkshire industrial estate

An investigation has been launched after five vans were torched in Wishaw earlier this week.

The incident happened at Netherton Industrial Estate on Tuesday evening.

That saw vans at a premises there deliberately set on fire - now police are appealing for information from the public.

DC Murray McMillan told Lanarkshire Live : “Thankfully nobody was hurt as a result of this reckless act.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information about this incident to contact us.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and who hasn’t already spoken to police, or any motorists with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was extinguished safely. There were no injuries.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
