Investigation launched into death of Nottingham bus driver

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of death of a Nottingham bus driver.

The driver, who has not been identified, is believed to have passed away last week. They worked for CT4N, which is the operating arm for Nottingham Community Transport.

They run the Centrelink, Medilink, Ecolink, Locallink and Worklink services on behalf of Nottingham City Council.

Ian Combellack, managing director of CT4N, said: "I can confirm that a driver from CT4N has sadly passed away and our thoughts are with the driver’s family at this time.

"As this has been referred to a coroner to establish the cause of death, we do not know the reasons why the driver has passed away.

"We are in contact with the driver’s family and once I have further factual information I will make a further announcement."

It has not been established if the driver was self isolating due to coronavirus or had shown any symptoms of the virus at this time of their death.
