Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found dead inside a house.
Emergency services were called to an address in Green Vale, Farnsfield, Newark, shortly before 2.30pm on Friday afternoon (New Year's Day).
A 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
She has not been identified by police.
Detective Inspector Craig Hall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are still at the very early stages of this investigation and are currently working to establish exactly what happened inside this property.
“We have been conducting house-to-house enquiries but would like to stress that there is no need for wider public alarm.”
