Investigation launched as child found dead at Co Antrim farm while second kid rushed to hospital

A child has been found dead in a farmhouse and a second youngster has been rushed to hospital in Co Antrim.

Police are investigating the sudden death of the tot who is believed to be under the age of three.

Officers are claimed to be treating the incident as domestic-related, Belfast Live reports.

An air ambulance  was called to the address Magheramorne near  Larne  shortly after 10am this morning.

A second child was flown to Royal London Hospital in Belfast by police helicopter for emergency treatment.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) chopper is also understood to have been called to the scene.

It is understood the children’s mother, a nurse, is being treated by medical professionals.

She and her husband had moved into the farmhouse property some months ago with their children.

Their home at the end of a country lane overlooking a lough, has been cordoned off by police at both sides of the property.
Forensic experts are expected to the scene.

PSNI  spokesperson said: "Police and other emergency services are currently at the scene of an incident in the Larne area.

"There are no further details at this stage."
