Investigation launched after youth on bike 'pointed gun' at bus in Belfast

An investigation has been launched following reports that a youth 'pointed a firearm' at a bus in Belfast on Monday morning.

The male, who was riding a bike on the Falls Road, threatened the driver of the bus near the Royal Victoria Hospital after 11am on September 16.

The PSNI has confirmed that enquiries are ongoing following the incident, Belfast Live reports.

A Translink spokesperson said: "At approximately 11.10 this morning, a Glider driver reported being threatened by a youth on a bike who appeared to be pointing a firearm.

"The incident, which happened near the Royal Victoria Hospital, has been reported to the PSNI."

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police in West Belfast received a report at around 11.15am on Monday 16 September, that a male youth riding a bicycle in the Falls Road area had pointed what appeared to be a firearm or replica towards a bus as it passed.

"The boy had a scarf covering his face and was riding an orange coloured BMX bicycle."
