An Irish woman has been found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Nevada.
An investigation is underway after the woman was found dead alongside two teenagers and a man in what local police have described as a suspected murder-suicide.
A spokesman for the Department of Foreign Affairs said: “The Department of Foreign Affairs are aware of the case and are providing consular assistance.”
The Reno Police Department said officers responded to a report of a deceased person at a residence in the city on Wednesday night.
Further investigations revealed three other dead people within the house that are believed to be members of the same family who live there.
Police said it appeared to be an isolated incident and that there was no threat to the community.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released pending confirmation by the local medical examiner’s office.
A spokesman for Reno Police said: “On March 4 2020 at approximately 1104 hours, Reno Police Officers responded to the 10000 blk of Canyon Country Ct, on a report of a deceased subject.
“Subsequent investigation revealed three other deceased subjects within the residence that are believed to be members of the same family who reside there.
“This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
“The identities of those involved are currently being withheld pending confirmation by the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office.”
