Investigation launched after shots are fired at the door of a home in north Manchester

Police are investigating after shots were fired at the front door of a home in Blackley.

Police were called to Ruthin Avenue at around 3.20pm this afternoon and discovered damage which they say is consistent with a firearms discharge.

A number of holes could be seen in the door of the property, which has been cordoned off while officers carry out work at the scene.

Police say no-one was injured and this is believed to be an isolated incident.

A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing.

No arrests have currently been made.
