An investigation has been launched after a partial skeleton discovered in Rathmines earlier this week was confirmed to be human.
The grim find was made at common ground at Lissenfield off Lower Rathmines Road on Thursday evening.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau and a forensic anthropologist have confirmed the remains are human.
A garda spokesman said: "The remains have been removed to Dublin City Mortuary and a post mortem will be conducted at a later date. This will determine the course of the investigation."
