Investigation launched after man in his 20s stabbed in the chest in Salford

A man in his 20s was stabbed in the chest following a disturbance in Salford. 

Police have since launched an investigation into the incident, which happened at around 10.50pm on August 29. 

Officers were called to a fight among a group of people on Teneriffe Street. It is believed a man in his 20s was stabbed in the chest during the brawl. 

He left the area before police arrived at the scene but later admitted himself to hospital. 

He has since been discharged, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said. 

In statement, the force said: “At around 10.50pm on Saturday 29 August 2020, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Teneriffe Street, Salford.

“Officers attended and enquiries established that a fight had broken out amongst a group of people and one man, in his 20s, had been stabbed in the chest.

“The victim, who had left the scene prior to police arrival, later admitted himself to hospital. He has since been discharged.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing.”
