Investigation launched after man found with facial injuries on Main Street in Paisley

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found injured in a street in Paisley.

Emergency services were called to Main Street shortly before 4pm on Friday after the 43-year-old was discovered with facial injuries. He was rushed to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Police Scotland is appealing for anyone with information to come forward and officers are working to establish the full circumstances behind the incident.

Detective Inspector Robert Bowie of CID in Paisley said : “Officers were called to a report of a man found injured in Main Street yesterday afternoon.

"Following enquiries we believe the man may have been assaulted in Kilpatrick Crescent area of the town earlier in the afternoon.

'We are carrying out door to door enquiries and reviewing CCTV in effort to establish how the victim came by his injuries. He suffered facial injuries as a result and was treated at Royal Alexandra Hospital.

“I am asking for anyone who witnessed an assault or has any information to please come forward. If you believe you could help our enquiries, call 101 quoting reference 2245 of 13 August.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
