Investigation launched after man found dead on Shirebrook allotments

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found on an allotment.

The man's body was found on an allotment in Prospect Drive, Shirebrook, at around 10am on Sunday, January 26.

Officers are appealing for witnesses that may have heard any "noise or disturbance" between 10.30pm on Saturday, January 25 and 10.30am the following day.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Constabulary added: "The investigation is in its early stages and enquiries are continuing to establish how the death occurred.

"Anyone with any information that may help our enquiries or that has CCTV or dash cam footage between these times is asked to contact us quoting reference number 20*49022.

"You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
