Investigation launched after man attacked by gang outside Tesco

A man was violently attacked by a gang of five people outside Tesco in Bolton. 

Police were called to reports of an assault on Crossley Street in Little Lever at around 2pm on Sunday (November 1). 

The man, believed to be in his 50s, sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. 

An investigation into the attack has since been launched, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed. 

A spokesman for the force said: “At around 3pm on Sunday 1 November 2020, officers were called to a report of an assault at Tesco on Crossley Street, Bolton. 

“A man in his 50s assaulted by a group of up to five people.

“He received minor injuries. 

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
