Investigation launched after candidates square up to one another at Leeds City Council election

A row between candidates at last night's local council election where Garforth and Swillington Independent councillor Watch: Bizarre spat between Leeds councillors caught on camera at election count is to be investigated.

Cllr Field told LeedsLive her behaviour came after Labour candidate Mark Pratt used derogatory language towards her party as the results were announced at the Leeds First Direct Arena.

Cllr Mark Dobson, who also represents the Garforth and Swillington Independents, claims a counting agent told Cllr Field to 'f**k off' and that other Labour members mocked him for speaking out about a spell of depression in 2017. He has confirmed that the incident has been reported to both West Yorkshire Police and the council.
