Gardai are investigating the discovery of a body that washed up on an island off the coast of Dublin.
The grim find was made on Thursday evening by staff working on Lambay Island.
The remains have since been removed to the Dublin City Morgue where the State Pathologist will perform a post-mortem examination.
A garda spokesman said: “The results of a post-mortem examination, and DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland, will assist investigating gardai in confirming the identity of the remains and with the course of their investigations.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
