Investigation launched after 15-year-old boy injured in 'disturbance'

An investigation has been launched after a 15-year-old boy was injured in a 'disturbance' in Salford.

Police were called to Park Avenue, next to Victoria Park in Swinton, at around 9.30pm last night (Sunday).

Officers received a report of a 'disturbance'.

A 15-year-old boy then turned up to hospital with an arm injury, police said.

He has since been discharged.

Police have now launched an investigation into the incident and appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 9.30pm on Sunday 20 February 2022, police received a report of a disturbance on Park Avenue, Swinton.

"A 15-year-old boy self-presented at hospital with an arm injury. He has since been discharged.

"An investigation is underway.

"Anyone with information should contact police quoting 3161 20/02/22 or the independent charity - Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
