Merseyside police have dropped an investigation after a boy was injured during a firework explosion.
The 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment after a firework was set alight in the garden of a house on Merseyside. He suffered injuries to his head and body after the firework exploded at around 2.45pm at a house in Pennard Avenue, Huyton, on Sunday, September 25.
The boy was taken to hospital by ambulance while a person who fainted at the scene was treated by paramedics. Officers from Merseyside Police and Merseyside Fire and Rescue initially launched an investigating the circumstances into the incident.

Police have now confirmed to the ECHO that there is no ongoing investigation and the incident has been treated as an accident. A large cordon was set up after the incident, with police taping off a section of houses.
