Investigation Discovery To Premiere Fifth Episode Of Quiet On Set

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV tv show

Investigation Discovery is gearing up to release the fifth episode of its docuseries, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. This latest installment, titled Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence, is scheduled to air on April 7. The episode will delve deeper into the troubling aspects of late 1990s and early 2000s kids TV series, shedding light on allegations of abuse, sexism, and racism.

The original four-part Quiet on Set series, which aired on ID and Max, garnered significant attention, drawing in over 16 million viewers. The show explored the toxic and dangerous culture prevalent behind the scenes of popular Nickelodeon series produced by Dan Schneider, a prominent TV producer.

Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence will feature interviews with former child TV actors, including Drake Bell and other cast members who worked on Nickelodeon shows. The episode aims to continue the important conversations sparked by the docuseries and provide further insights into the challenges faced by child actors and crews in the industry.

In a statement, Jason Sarlanis, president of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN, Linear and Streaming, expressed the significance of the upcoming episode in addressing lingering questions and amplifying the voices of those who have spoken out against the toxic practices in the industry.

Notable figures from the original Quiet on Set series, such as Drake Bell and All That cast members, will return for the fifth episode to share their experiences and shed light on the issues plaguing the industry. Bell, in particular, bravely shared his story of sexual abuse at the hands of his former dialogue coach, Brian Peck, who was convicted in 2004.

Following the premiere of Quiet on Set, Dan Schneider issued an apology video, acknowledging his past behaviors and expressing regret for his actions. Allegations against Schneider include claims of fostering toxic work environments and mistreating cast and crew members on his TV sets.

The Quiet on Set series was directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz and produced by Maxine Productions and Sony Pictures Television – Nonfiction, in association with Business Insider. The upcoming episode, Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence, promises to continue the important dialogue surrounding the dark side of kids TV and the need for accountability in the industry.
