An investigation is to take place after a tree fell on a woman in a park and crushed her leg.
The incident happened in Bramcote Hills Park at around 7pm on Bank Holiday Monday (May 25), when a tree snapped and landed on her, hitting her in the head and breaking her leg.
Her children "screamed for help" and walkers nearby rushed to free her from underneath the tree.
The emergency services, including Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Nottinghamshire Police, were called after the group lifted the tree from her leg.
A crew of six firefighters from Stapleford evacuated her from the inclined slope on a scoop stretcher.
Broxtowe Borough Council, which runs the park just off Ilkeston Road, said it is looking into the incident.
A spokeswoman said: "The council has only just been made aware of this incident and will be carrying out a thorough investigation.
"Safety in our parks and open spaces is something we take seriously and we are sorry to hear about any incidents of injury to anyone whilst they are visiting."
