Investigation after 2 bodies found at home

Police have found two bodies at a house in Leicestershire.

Officers found the bodies at an address in Leicester Lane, Desford, at about 10am on Thursday, October 28.

Police were called out because neighbours were concerned for the occupants’ welfare.

Officers attended and found two people – a 69-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman – inside.

They both had significant injuries.

An investigation is being carried out into the circumstances surrounding of the deaths and the events leading up to the bodies being discovered.

Detective Inspector Nicole Main, from Leicestershire Police's major crime team, said: “We are working hard to understand what happened inside the address and how the two people died.

“At this stage we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation and there is no wider risk identified to the public.

“The family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers at this distressing time.

“I understand that there will be questions but our investigation is ongoing into the circumstance of the deaths.”
