Investec appoints new Glasgow business development director

Investec Wealth & Investment has appointed a business development director in its Glasgow office as it invests in its discretionary fund management offering.

Lee Crow will work on selling the company's offering to financial advisors, intermediaries and their underlying clients across the UK.

He joins along with David Hyner and Ian Wolfenden as business development directors in the firm's Guildford and Leeds offices respectively. All three of them came from rival investment firm Brooks Macdonald.

The company said the hires demonstrated its continued investment across the UK and its determination to deepen relationships with financial advisors and intermediaries and understand their local markets.

John Cowmeadow, head of Intermediary Services said: “We understand that for our intermediary partners, outsourcing investment services can significantly reduce the regulatory and administrative burden.

“With more time available advisors are able to spend valuable time nurturing existing clients and building new relationships.

“We are investing for the future by recruiting talented business development directors with experience and strong knowledge of their local markets.

“Lee, Ian and David will help us develop tailored propositions for investors in the north and south of England and Scotland.”
