Introducing the vote-o-matic

Why are the opinion polls returning such diverse results? Labour is consistently ahead, but the lead sways like a teenager on alcopop. The divergence may be the product of competing methodologies, or it may just be that people lie to pollsters for kicks.

Or perhaps there are many swing voters, adrift on the turbulent sea of indecision. This strikes us as the most likely explanation. How are these people to make up their minds by polling day?

There are already some tools available on the internet. Political Survey 2005 is a marvelous gadget that mines you for data on your views and then paints you somewhere into a broad and colourful political spectrum. (Via Perfect.co.uk) Less sophisticated but quicker is Whoshouldyouvotefor.com (Via Our cousins over the road)

But these fine sites assume a modicum of engagement in politics. What about those poor souls who feel that they really ought to vote but can't summon up even the faintest semblance of a strong opinion?
