'Intimidating' man banned from begging in Bury

A man has been banned from begging in Bury following 'repeated intimidatory' incidents.

Marlon Robert Prescod-Brown, 31, was handed a two-year criminal behaviour order at Manchester Magistrates’ Court last month.

He was also fined £85 for stealing from Tesco Express on Bolton Road, Bury , in June 2019.

Prescod-Brown, of Powell Street, Bury, is banned from approaching people or attending businesses, places of worship or private residences to ask for money in the town.

He is also specifically banned from attending the Tesco Express store, which is close to his home.

The order comes after his breach of a Community Protection Notice, issued in July 2018 following numerous instances of repeated intimidatory begging.

Anyone who sees Prescod-Brown breaking the terms of his CBO should call police on 101.
