Acclaimed film-makers Rian Johnson, Brad Bird and Edgar Wright, along with actors Emile Hirsch, Josh Gad and Patton Oswalt are among the famous names lining up to offer praise for Christopher Nolan’s much-hyped, Oscar-tipped space drama Interstellar.

Starring Matthew McConaughey as a widower engineer forced to leave his young family behind as he embarks through a wormhole to distant exoplanets in the hope of finding a new home for mankind away from the dying Earth, Nolan’s film is expected to be one of the best-reviewed movies of 2014.

While critics have so far kept to a strict review embargo which expires on Monday, the social media site exploded with a supernova of positivity following a reported screening in New York on Sunday evening held by Paramount studio chief Brad Grey.

The director of Looper and forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII wrote:

Bird, best known for The Incredibles and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, wrote:

Tweeted Shaun of the Dead and The World’s End’s Wright:

Hirsch, known for Milk and Into the Wild, wrote:

Added Oswalt, star of Young Adult and Ratatouille:

Tweeted Gad, the star of Frozen and Jobs:

Co-starring Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain and Casey Affleck, Interstellar hits cinemas in the US and UK on 7 November. The film is expected to receive the widest global release ever in IMAX cinemas, with a reported 770 sites worldwide due to screen the science fiction adventure.
