One person has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing after a car reportedly crashed into a police vehicle in south Canberra.
The incident on the Hindmarsh Drive off-ramp, near the Tuggeranong Parkway, was reported to emergency services about 4.23pm on Wednesday, July 22. The intersection has since been closed.
An ACT Policing spokeswoman said reports from the scene alleged a car had crashed into the police unit after failing to stop at a red light.
It's understood the driver of the car was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and the officer in the police vehicle was not seriously injured. The driver was in a stable condition.
There are heavy traffic delays reported in the area and the intersection is expected to be closed for some time while ACT Policing's major collision team assesses the scene.
The police spokeswoman said street-sweepers and tow trucks have been called to clear the scene.
An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesman said all people involved in the crash and there were no reports of serious injuries as of 6pm.
Multiple police units were seen at the location helping to direct traffic in the area.
