Paul Banks, famously known for being the lead singer in the rock band Interpol, has revealed that he has been stuck in Edinburgh during lockdown.
During an interview with the BBC's 6music concerning his new band 'Muzz', Banks was asked where he was in the world during such unprecedented times.
He then stated he had wound up in the capital for what was supposed to just be a holiday, however an imminent lockdown and travel ban imposed in the US by Donald Trump had quickly set his plans into chaos.
The singer added:
"This was my first time to Edinburgh, I got here on 12th March and that was like the day that Trump had announced some of the travel restrictions and everything just kind of spiraled from there.
"So it was supposed to be a weeks visit and then I was going to go see my mum in Spain and so everything just sort of changed.
"I'm just living out of a suitcase in my girl's place but it's becoming home. But I'm a UK (citizen) I've got a passport so it's all good."
Banks also went on to state that he is currently residing next to the Meadows and is enjoying the scenery from his new lockdown home when asked what he could see out of his window:
"It's adjacent building and a park is what I see. The Meadows I believe, it's a beautiful park in Edinburgh.
"It's great yeah, it could really be a lot worse."
