Internet convinced Barry from EastEnders performed at Joe Biden's inauguration after viral hoax

Joe Biden's inauguration had a very special, if unexpected guest, or at least that's what the internet thinks.

A video of none other than Barry from EastEnders, famously played by Shaun Williamson, supposedly performing to an audience of millions at Wednesday's historical event has gone viral.

And it's been edited so well that a large number of people think it's genuine.

Shaun gives an impressive performance of (Something Inside) So Strong by Labi Siffre in the clip.

The video mashed up bits of the performance with clips of new President Joe Biden and inauguration guests, like former President George W Bush and ex Vice President Mike Pence.

Making it look all the more legitimate, the footage of Shaun's performance had the BBC news logo on the bottom throughout.

It was created by Twitter user Andy Ha, who shared it with the caption: "Inspirational."

It was then shared by EastEnders star Jake Wood, aka Max Branning, who joined in the joke.

Jake tweeted: "Congratulations to my old mucker @ShaunWilliamson for an amazing performance at @JoeBiden inauguration yesterday.

"2nd inauguration in a row Shaun, well done mate, smashing it."

And his tweet sounded so sincere, that some people actually fell for it.

One person tweeted: "He's comes a long way from Eastenders!! Wow."

"Such a lovely man too. Amazing voice!" another posted.

A third said: "Wow Barry from Eastenders you've done top."
