Happy International Nurses Day! Today, we're saying a massive thank you to all NHS workers in Bristol.
They're still under huge, unrelenting pressure fighting the coronavirus pandemic from the frontline.
We've been paying tribute to the porters, cleaners and reception staff as well as doctors and nurses and so many others who are protecting our health and keeping our families safe.
As today is International Nurses Day, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth, we want to mark the occasion by asking you to say thank you by posting a selfie and donating £5.
Your money goes to the Bristol City Centre Hospitals Appeal which is run by Above & Beyond. As the official charity for University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust, they will continue to be there to support our city's hospitals in any way they need.
Julie Worrall, Above & Beyond Director of Fundraising and Development, said: "Since we launched the Bristol City Centre Hospitals Appeal we have been overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the Bristol community.
“But we know that the impact on our NHS staff will continue into the long-term and we want to be there to support them, both emotionally and physically, in whatever way they need.
“We’re also investing in innovative research to protect hospital staff and our communities now and in the future.
“None of this will be possible without continued support from the people of Bristol.”
