American conductor Jeffrey Meyer will lead Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra on a multi-continental and culturally rich journey during "The Great Gates Of Kiev" concert at Mahidol University's Prince Mahidol Hall, Salaya campus, on Friday May 17 at 7pm and Saturday May 18 at 4pm.

The programme will feature Pictures At An Exhibition, the most famous piano composition by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky. The triumphal ending of this beautiful collection of ingenious pieces in Ravel's unforgettable arrangement for orchestra is expected to strike an emotional chord with local audiences.

Cultures collide in Gabriela Lena Frank's Concertino Cusqueno as the American composer imagines taking one of her musical heroes on a colourful journey to the ancient Peruvian highlands of Cusco, the ancestral homelands of the Incas.

He has been the principal trumpet player with the TPO since 2017 at the age 20.
