Intermediate Cup 2020/21 cancelled due to ongoing Covid-19 concerns

This season's McComb’s Coach Travel Intermediate Cup in partnership with Match on Tuesday has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

The 2020/21 competition had yet to kick-off and organisers said they "recognised the difficulties" being faced by all clubs.

All non-elite football will remain in lockdown until at least April 1.

A statement on the Irish FA website read: "The Irish Football Association has cancelled the McComb’s Coach Travel Intermediate Cup in partnership with Match on Tuesday for this season.

"The decision was taken by the Irish FA’s Intermediate Cup Committee which met to consider the current health situation in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic and the extended lockdown due to end on 1 April.

"The committee said it recognised the difficulties faced by clubs and leagues during this period and the competition will therefore be cancelled with immediate effect.

"Entry fees for the competition will be refunded to all clubs."

Dollingstown won the cup last season after defeating Newington 2-0 in the final.
