BHUBANESWAR: Heatwave is likely to prevail in parts of western and interior Odisha for next two days, the IMD said on Saturday.
The fresh bulletin said isolated places in four districts of Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur and Bargarh would experience heatwave on Sunday and Monday. Besides, chances of light to moderate rain or thunderstorm would continue at isolated places.
Balangir and Titlagarh witnessed day temperatures of 45 and 44.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. Sambalpur and Sonepur were not too far behind at 44.7 and 44.5 degrees Celsius. Temperature hovered between 40 and 43 degrees at nine more places, with Bhubaeswar recording a maximum of 35.7°C.TNN
