Interior design ideas: cash in the attic – in pictures
It's easy to see the appeal of Katarina Påhlson's apartment, a warehouse conversion in Shoreditch, east London, to the hippish, youngish rental crowd. Part boho loft, part Swiss chalet, it's a mishmash of antiques and retro. She rents it out for a week, once a month, to fund her fashion label. Påhlson works in the attic mezzanine, and puts up overnight guests. Photograph: Michael FrankeThe spare bed in the attic doubles as a day bed/sofa when Påhlson is working. Capacious floor-to-ceiling cupboards, one of which is left empty for visitors’ things, house her clothes, and there’s a small but functional ensuite bathroom.
