When you're faced with a cluttered home, it can be hard to know where to start - especially if, like most people, you're no expert. Thankfully, an interior design specialist has shared the fast and simple cleaning method she's been using for years.
Following the method is easy: you just need to remember not to dive straight into the task, even if this is the approach you might think works best. Instead, there's a different first step to be completed before you tackle the mess - and it is all about preparation.
As @gillaleighhome.designs shows in her TikTok video devoted to the method, setting up four cleaning baskets can work a treat. If you take four baskets, designating each four items to keep, donate, sell or bin, then it is much simpler to sort through your goods, as seen in The Mirror.

The interior design expert recommends adding a label to each basket, before she demonstrates using the system. In the video, Gilla throws soft items into the basket - clearing through the clutter in a matter of seconds.
"Empty into bags as they fill up and keep going," she recommends. "Take these four baskets with you room to room throughout your home." In response, viewers were quick to praise the hack, with several sharing their delight in the comments. "I love this idea," said one person. "Perfect," agreed another.
When someone else added that they think the method is "great", the expert replied: "It’s great, because you can take the totes Room To Room:) keeps you motivated." Replying to another fan of the trick, she also revealed: "I’ve used this method for years."
