Interesting Jed Wallace transfer claim emerges amid Nottingham Forest interest

Nottingham Forest are said to be in "strong position" to land Millwall winger Jed Wallace this month.

The Millwall man has caught the eye of several clubs, with Forest competing with interest from Turkish giants Besiktas and fellow Championship sides Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

News at Den also say that the Lions "prepare for the potential departure of Jed Wallace this month."

They also added: "A source spoken to by NewsAtDen this week felt Nottingham Forest were in a strong position to land Wallace this month."

And Sun journalist Alan Nixon is tipping Forest to complete a deal for the 27-year-old.

Discussing Wallace's future on Twitter, he said: "Hear Forest happens... But nothing done until it's done..."

Wallace's current deal expires in the summer, having been at The Den in 2017 and making just under 200 league appearances.

The latest update has excited many Forest fans.

"Wow, must be close then," one supporter said on Twitter, before another added: "Seriously? I hope so BIG time!"

Another went on to say: "That would be unbelievable bit of business if we manage to pull that one off," while a third posted: "It's happening!!"

Millwall boss Gary Rowett has dismissed any transfer speculation and said he expects Wallace to be available to face Forest on Saturday.

"Jed had only trained for a couple of days and I didn’t think he’d done enough training or looked quite fit enough to effect this game," Rowett said.

"So we will give him a little more time to make sure he is available for Forest. As we stand at the moment, there is no reason he won’t be available for that game."
