According to new data, UK interest in buying properties abroad has surged over the past few months.
Data gathered throughout lockdown by leading property site Rightmove pointed towards a significant increase in searches for private villas and apartments across Europe.
The trend is said to be a mixture of both those looking for a second and those looking to relocate altogether.
Spain was the county with the highest uptick with 34% more searches than this time last year. France trails just behind on 33% while Portugal was at 26%
It is also said that, even more specifically, searches for Ibiza went up a whopping 147% which is largely attributed to the success of Netflix series White Lines.
"Lockdown has allowed many people time to re-appraise their lives," Righmove property Miles Shipside says. "[This time] has promoted lots of home-hunters to get serious about buying elsewhere in Europe."
"It's still early days," he continued, "but this is an indication that this has been a life-changing period for many who are re-appraising both how and where they want to live."
Home-hunters can view overseas properties, many of which include online video tours, here on Rightmove.
