The 4 areas of Nottinghamshire with the lowest Covid infection rates

Four areas of Nottinghamshire have now reported coronavirus infection rates below 100 cases per 100,000 people.

An interactive map produced by the Government show these parts of the county have a rate which is significantly below the England average.

One area of the city is included in this - The Park and Castle - which reported just 8 total cases in the seven days up to February 1, a fall of 33. This means the rolling rate per 100,000 people has now fallen below 100, to 94.8.

West Bridgford has also recorded a fall in cases during the same period, with 5 cases in the seven days to February 1, a drop of 13. The area's rolling rate now stands at 51.8.

The other two areas where rates are below 100 per 100,000 people are in the north of the county.

Lowdham, Bleasby and Gunthorpe have reported a fall of 18 cases in the seven days, to six and the infection rate now stands at 88.2.

Meanwhile, in Retford North, the rate stands at 78.5, with five cases in the week to February 1, a fall of 8 cases.

Those areas are in stark contrast to other areas of the county. The worst affected area continues to be Ranskill, Everton and Gringley, which has a rate of 767.7.

This area has, however, seen a huge fall in cases, with 61 total confirmed diagnoses, a fall of 130.
