An interactive map to help folk in East Kilbride and Strathaven find their nearest grit bin is on hand - and with weather forecasters predicting that temperatures will continue to plummet it could help you stay on your feet.
Streets across the area have been turned into ice rinks and conditions underfoot lethal following a blanket of snow over the festive period and the New Year heralding sub-zero temperatures.
And with South Lanarkshire Council concentrating on clearing main routes, a handy location map on their website pinpoints the nearest grit bin to your street.
Forecasters are warning this winter could be Scotland's coldest on record as concerns are raised about a repeat of the Beast from the East.
And Coral chiefs also predict this January could be the coldest on record.
"With temperatures continuing to drop, we could be edging towards the coldest winter since records began in the UK," said Coral's John Hill.
"It's been a chilly start to the month and as a result it is now odds-on that this will be the coldest January ever in this country."
Sheet ice is expected to plague the country as part of a mega-freeze which could see temperatures plummet as low as -15C.
It's been almost three years since the first Beat from the East, when devastating weather conditions blanketed towns and cities across the country in snow, causing death, destruction, chaos on the roads and people to be stranded in sub-zero temperatures.
People are now being urged to get their homes and vehicles prepared for severe winter weather, and January 2021 looks set to be a freezing one.
And a handy tip on how to use the grit to best de-ice your area is to put small amounts of grit along the route you want to clear and then use a brush to work it in, clearing larger areas quicker.
Other top tips for dealing with the big freeze include - testing your boiler and running it for at least an hour a day during cold snaps; bleed radiators; protect your pipes and have a winter safety kit ready to go in your car.
You may be able to claim financial and practical help with heating your home.
Grants available include the Winter Fuel Payment and the Cold Weather Payment.
