Interactive Brokers To Join S&P 500; Robinhood, AppLovin Snubbed Again

Interactive Brokers will join the S&P 500 index before the open on Thursday, Aug. 28, S&P Dow Jones Indices announced late Monday. The online brokerage will replace Walgreens Boots Alliance. Interactive Brokers stock rose solidly overnight.

Robinhood, AppLovin and Carvana were snubbed once again. They could be added to the benchmark S&P 500 in the upcoming quarterly rebalance, set to be announced in early September. HOOD stock and AppLovin edged lower overnight while Carvana was little changed.

Interactive Brokers stock rose nearly 4% in premarket trade, signaling a move back above the 21-day line. Shares bounced off the 10-week line last week.

Talen Energy will replace Interactive Brokers in the S&P MidCap 400. TLN stock bounced more than 4%,  set to rebound above its 21-day moving average.

Meanwhile, Kinetik Holdings jumped nearly 6% as S&P Dow Jones Indices selected KNTK to replace Pacific Premier Bancorp in the S&P SmallCap 600 before the open on Sept. 2.

Walgreens Boots Alliance is set to be taken private by Sycamore Partners. Pacific Premier is being acquired by Columbia Banking System.
