Inter set to sign Christian Eriksen, Leicester move for £25m Arsenal target - European rumours

Inter lead Eriksen chase

Inter Milan are poised to secure the services of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet .

Spurs are set to lose the midfielder in 2020 as he is in the final months of his contract and is available on a free transfer at the end of the season - but the report states Inter are closing in on a January deal.

That would provide a significant boost for the Italian side in the second half of the season, as they chase glory in Serie A and the Europa League.

Besiktas seek Karius extension

Turkish outfit Besiktas are keen to extend the stint of Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius at the club, Fanatik states.

The two-year loan of the German international is due to expire at the end of the season and Besiktas have the option of bringing the 26-year-old to the club on a permanent basis for a fee of €8m.

However, they are not keen to activate that clause and are instead ready to offer another loan spell for the stopper for the 2020-21 campaign.

Smalling wants Roma stay

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling is determined to secure a permanent move to Roma following his loan spell, Gazzetta Dello Sport reports.

The England international is said to be hopeful of securing a permanent move to the Italian capital during the January transfer window, with a deal set to cost the Serie A side a fee of around €15m.

United are well-stocked for defensive options and are likely to approve Smalling’s sale if their value of the experienced defender is met.

The Foxes interest in the Turkey international, a compatriot of Caglar Soyuncu, was first mentioned in mid-December and it is now suggested that Brendan Rodgers’ side have made a move.

However, Borussia Dortmund are said to have made an offer worth around €40m for the 21-year-old, while Arsenal are also said to be keen on a deal.
