Inter Milan 'want to sign' Liverpool man to replace Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan want to sign Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino in the summer as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

The Brazilian is out of contract at Anfield in June, but Jurgen Klopp has admitted he would like to keep hold of Firmino as talks are ongoing about his future.

Belgian striker Lukaku, who is on loan from Chelsea, is scheduled to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of his loan spell having not endured a fruitful time in Italy due to ongoing injury issues.

La Gazzetta dello Sport are the Italian outlet to have reported on Inter's interest in Firmino. The Serie A club would be able to agree a pre-contract now.

The 31-year-old has recently spoken out about his desire to remain at Liverpool and continue playing at the highest level in the Premier League.

Firmino has been a key component to a Liverpool side that has won the lot under Klopp and has also managed to notch seven times in 13 Premier League games this season after injury struggles have hampered him.

Liverpool's number nine has shown he is still capable of adding so much to his side and he could be a huge help to the likes of Darwin Nunez settling into Merseyside and being shown the ropes of a Klopp side.
