Inter Milan outline N'Golo Kante stance as Chelsea problems laid bare

Inter outline Kante stance

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has played down the chances of N'Golo Kante leaving Chelsea to seal a move to the San Siro.

The World Cup winner has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge, amid ongoing interest in West Ham's Declan Rice, and Inter have repeatedly been named as the leading suitors.

However, speaking to DAZN, Ausilio suggested that is not the case: “Kante is not on the market, he’s a starter at Chelsea. We’re not in talks for him also because we’ve already got eight midfielders in our team."

Chelsea problems laid bare

Chelsea fought back in dramatic style against West Brom on Saturday, scoring three second-half goals to wipe away the large lead the Baggies held at the interval.

The Blues have spent heavily this summer, splashing out in excess of £200m, and were labelled as title contenders before a ball was kicked.

However, the first-half performance at the Hawthorns has highlighted the biggest problems in Frank Lampard's side - namely being the individual errors.

Marcos Alonso had a horror show, with two errors of his own, either side of a moment to forget for Thiago Silva on his Premier League debut.

Abraham offers half-time insight

Tammy Abraham says Frank Lampard played the role of motivator at half-time during Chelsea's comeback draw with West Brom.

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Abraham said Lampard picked the team up at half-time: "We all went in and everyone's head was down so he had to lift us up. He said we didn't look like a team willing to go out for the second half and, as a team, we had to lift each other.

"You could see that from the performance in the second half."
