Newly-appointed Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is desperate to keep hold of reported Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku this summer.
That's according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims Inzaghi has 'called Lukaku in the last few hours' with regards to his future.
The Sunday World recently reported that Roman Abramovich still sees the Belgium international as one of his favourite strikers and the Blues have made him their top transfer priority this summer.
Lukaku left the west London club in 2014 to join Everton, before signing for Manchester United - where he endured a frustrating spell.
But the 28-year-old has rediscovered his magic touch in Italy, with the striker coming runner-up to Cristiano Ronaldo in the Serie A scoring charts.
Sky Sports are reporting Chelsea hold a serious interest in Lukaku, as well as Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland - after the Norwegian's spectacular campaign for the German club.
Thomas Tuchel is looking to put his own stamp on the Blues squad after inheriting the players from Frank Lampard in January.
The newly-crowned Champions League winners are also said to be considering a move for Haaland, with a reported £66million release clause in his Dortmund contract coming into effect next summer.
The 20-year-old forward recently claimed he is going to be 'respectful' to Dortmund this summer, despite being heavily linked with an exit from Signal Iduna Park.
“Borussia Dortmund say I’m 100 per cent staying this summer? I’ve got a contract with Dortmund so I’ll be respectful,” he told Nent, via the Express.
“Champions League spot secured was so important to me, I want to play UCL football. And I’ve big dreams.”
Chelsea's need for an out-and-out striker was evident this season after Jorginho finished as the side's top scorer in the Premier League, with seven goals to his name - all from the penalty spot.
