Inter Milan make major transfer decision that could impact Arsenal and Lautaro Martinez deal

The end of the summer transfer window is fast approaching and Arsenal continue to be linked to further strengthen their squad ahead of the Gunners' clash against Brentford.

Mikel Arteta has already added three new faces to his side after Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White all made the move to the Emirates Stadium but more could come through the door before the end of the month.

It has been reported that Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez is one of those on the Gunners’ radar, but the deal seemed to be off the table when Romelu Lukaku agreed a move to Chelsea.

The Belgian is set to make the switch to west London on Monday for a club-record fee, which would leave Martinez as the Nerrazzuri’s only recognised senior number nine.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Inter could be looking to recruit two strikers to replace Lukaku and potentially Martinez, should the pair both depart the club.

Edin Dzeko has been touted as most likely to be brought in first and it would leave enough funds for the purchase of a second frontman, with Joaquin Correa and Duvan Zapata firmly on their radar.

If Inter were to bring in two new attackers, it could mean that Martinez is up for sale and would impact Arsenal’s pursuit to sign the 23-year-old, who has two years left on current deal.

The Italian giants are planning a potential mass exodus to free up some money and have already started to do that when Achraf Hakimi made the £55 million move to PSG.

This latest twist might open the door for Martinez to make the switch to the Emirates and Inter's decision on who they will bring in will no doubt impact the move.
