Inter Milan join Paul Pogba transfer race with star on Real Madrid's three-man shortlist

Inter Milan have reportedly entered the race to sign Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a return to former club Juventus, and remains a long-term target for Real Madrid.

But Tuttosport report Inter have now also thrown their name in the hat to land Pogba this summer.

Antonio Conte has been busy building Inter into a real force again at the San Siro, and has already raided United for three players.

The report suggests Conte will raise funds to move for Pogba by offloading striker Mauro Icardi, who is currently on loan at PSG.

Icardi's loan agreement includes an option to buy, with PSG believed to be keen on retaining the Argentine's services.

His sale would bring in £62million should he complete a permanent switch to the Parc des Princes, which could be used directly to launch a bid for Pogba.

The Italian giants face competition from their close rivals Juventus however, who have also been linked with Icardi.

Pogba is believed to be their primary target, while Real Madrid have named the 27-year-old on a three-man shortlist.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is desperate to link up with Pogba at the Bernabeu, but knows transfer funds may be tight in the off-season due to the current economical crisis.

According to AS, Zidane has also named Rennes starlet Eduardo Camavinga as a potential option, as well as Napoli's Fabian Ruiz.

Both stars are valued at around £50m, but Napoli have slapped a £90m price tag on Ruiz to ward off potential suitors.

United had previously demanded £180m for Pogba, but AS state they may accept closer to the £100m mark in the current climate.

One stumbling block is Pogba's wages though, as the World Cup winner would immediately become one of the top earners in Madrid, ahead of the likes of Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos.

Much could depend on whether Bale stays put with the Los Blancos, otherwise they could be forced to move for their alternative targets.
