Inter Milan director in London amid Milan Skriniar's Chelsea transfer links

Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio is reportedly in London as Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for defender Milan Skriniar.

The Blues ' backline requires major surgery this summer given Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are set to leave on free transfers at the end of the month whilst Cesar Azpilicueta continues to be linked with a move to La Liga giants Barcelona. Slovakian international Skriniar is one name that has been mooted as a potential target for Thomas Tuchel and Co but the west Londoners may face competition from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Romano has reported that there is yet to be direct contact between Inter and Chelsea regarding Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, although the Serie A side's director Ausilio is indeed in London to meet with the agent of Nikola Milenković, who could potentially replace Skriniar if he leaves the Nerazzurri this summer. Writing on Twitter, the Italian said: "There has been no meeting between Inter and Chelsea today for Romelu Lukaku. Still no direct contact between clubs.

"Inter director Ausilio was in London to meet with Nikola Milenković’s agent, target in case Bastoni or Skriniar leave [he’s top of the list for PSG]." Tuchel has admitted that his side face a tough task in rebuilding their defence ahead of next season, telling football.london : "We are rebuilding, not improving the squad.

"We are rebuilding. This is always challenging, but we are up for the challenge.

"I don't know where we are from day one. What I can promise is that I will be here – if I can promise that – I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what.

"We will still work for Chelsea, and I refuse to think of negative scenarios. We will be competitive, on which level we will see."
